Headcollars – the piece of equipment in use every day

A headcollar is handled more often than any other item in the yard: when fetching from the field, grooming, loading. It is therefore not the design but the craftsmanship that decides how long it lasts. At Equinista you will find headcollars from Antarès and Cavalleria Toscana.

Leather or textile

Leather headcollars are the choice for competition and loading – in an emergency they give way more readily than nylon, and they look better with the years if you look after them. Textile headcollars are hard-wearing, washable and the more practical solution for everyday life in the field.

Fit

The noseband should sit about two fingers' width below the cheekbone and should not rest on the bone at the sides. The headpiece must not chafe at the base of the ear. If in doubt, we will measure with you in our shop in Rostock.

Care

• Leather: wipe down after use, condition regularly with leather balm
• Textile: wash at 30 °C, air dry
• Checking: inspect seams and buckles regularly – a headcollar always fails at the seam
